The Need to Go See the Properties in Person
February 28th, 2011 by admin
I was thrilled when the email arrived from the Tubac Home Builder with the information on the available properties in Arizona. I knew that I needed to choose one and as quickly as possible. I didn’t know much if anything about the area though. I would have to go there and look I was thinking. I called the airline and made a reservation for the next day. Then I called a hotel and a car rental place and made reservations for both.

What Tom and I talked about
February 27th, 2011 by admin
On Tuesday evening my wife and I went to the local Chuck E. cheeses. My nephew was going to be turning twelve years old and he was having a party over there. One of the other people that showed up was my brother Tom. While we were enjoying a piece of pizza Tom started telling me about the AZ homes that had been built just west of town. He said that he was going to check into some of the prices on these homes.

Geotextile Fabric Stabilizes The Ground
February 27th, 2011 by admin
Geotextile fabric is a material applied directly to the ground in order to accomplish a specific construction purpose. These materials are usually made from synthetic materials instead of natural ones. This article will discuss some of the properties and functions of these kinds of materials. There are many different varieties of this product. It is manufactured by a weaving process, by felting the fibers, or it may even be knitted. The weight varies from being very heavy to something that resembles mesh. Each kind has holes to allow water to pass through. Both the pore size and the weight of the material depend on which application the material is going to be used for. The synthetic material means that it doesn’t degrade under normal conditions, which is a benefit for a permanent installation. This product may be used to keep layers of soil separate. A road needs a stable foundation that is undermined when the gravel foundation mixes with the underlying soil as the vehicles pass over. A heavy layer of this material keeps the gravel from being pressed down into the soil. The foundation is more secure, and the roadway is thus less likely to crack.Water drainage is another way that this material might be used. A drainage field and channel is constructed with the fabric that gathers water from an area and diverts it away from a problem area without eroding the slope. Construction creates a lot of loose soil and erosion can be a problem. This kind of drainage can help both temporarily during construction and permanently in order to protect the structure from excess rainwater.Controlling erosion at the edges of bodies of water is important, and these types of products can accomplish this. Material is laid down on the bank and covered with rocks. The action of the water is prevented from carrying away the fine soil underneath and the shape of the bank is maintained. There are lots of different types of geotextile fabric, and each application has a particular kind of fabric that will do the job well. The last 20 years has seen a great increase in their use. Besides the ones mentioned in this article, these materials have many other interesting uses.

Time to Move On
February 27th, 2011 by admin
I went home after talking to my daughter to find my husband sitting on the couch in the living room grinning from ear to ear. He jumped up when he saw me and said it looked like we would buy one of the Tucson homes we had seen. I told him that it looked as though we would. We were both very excited to get started on a new life. Our children were grown it was time to move on.

The deals that are going on all over

Last weekend my wife and I celebrated her twenty-seventh birthday. We had a small party at our apartment and we invited a few friends over. After cutting the cake and eating some ice cream we started talking about some of the Fort Myers short sales to be found all over the place. A couple of our friends were going to be buying a house in the near future and they were looking at these type financial situations. This made sense to me.

The Importance Of A Home Inspection
February 26th, 2011 by admin
When buying a home, you should never overlook the importance of a home inspection. Our first impressions of the property are based almost entirely on cosmetics. The house looks good and feel right for you. But how good an investment is it? Without the help of a professional home inspector, your real estate investment could turn into a money pit. Some of the things an inspector will verify are the state of the foundations, the electrical and plumbing of the house, the shape of the roof and if there is any signs of water infiltration, etc, etc. Remember that looks can be deceiving. A slightly dated home may be in great mechanical shape while a home that has been dressed up to the nines may conceal some serious problems.

Moving to Texas
February 26th, 2011 by admin
Tracy gave me a great list of Real Estate Agents Texas to contact, and set aside some time to talk to a few of them. It was difficult to know much of what they had to offer since I was still in Illinois, but I made appointments to meet with some of them when I came to Texas in the next month. I was staying with Tracy until I could find a place of my own, and although we were great friends, I hated to impose.
